Mexico.- Derived from a new criterion for the issuance of Digital Tax Proofs over the Internet, the Tax Administration Service allows the updating of the calculation mechanics of income tax (ISR) associated with the aguinaldo that is paid to pensioners under the following terms.
3.5 million people, representing 94 per cent of the total pension population and receiving a monthly pension of less than 20,000 pesos, in November 2019 did not see any withholding of RSR, which represents a higher disposable income.
148 thousand people, representing 4 per cent of the total pension population, receive a monthly pension ranging from 20 thousand to 38 thousand pesos, where the pension and aguinaldo together exceed 38,000 pesos of the withholding tax amount of RSI , were subject to ISR retention in November 2019. However, since the annual income is less than the annual exempt (460 thousand pesos), the December 2019 payroll according to the annual calculation of the ISR will be applied the corresponding refund of this tax. 74 thousand people, representing 2 per cent of the total pension population, receive a monthly pension of more than 38,000 pesos and exceed the annual exemption of 460 thousand pesos, were subject to ISR withholding in November 2019 and are required to submit their annual clearing to the SAT in order to request the return of the corresponding ISR.
