On November 4, three female vans and 14 children from the LeBarón family were attacked in the mountains on the borders between the states of Chihuahua and Sonora, leaving a balance of nine people dead.
According to the chronology of events disseminated by the government of Mexico, members of the LeBarón family were ambushed at around 13:00 hours by an armed group, which set fire to one of the vans with the passengers inside.
