Mexico.- Elements of the SSP and the Federal Police face off in Terminal 1 of the AICM, the act left 32 police injured.
“We have 32 colleagues from the Executive Security Secretariat injured,” Secretary Omar García Harfuch said in statements to the media.
For his part, Alfonso Durazo Montaño, head of the Ministry of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC) of the federal government, called the demonstrations of former members of the Federal Police who refuse to join the National Guard or other agencies as a “frank provocation.”
“It is an undue action, it is a frank act of provocation, particularly because of the violence with which they express thetime, we call for not affecting citizens,” secretary Durazo Montaño said.
“We regret this initiative of this group, they have full knowledge of the administrative process for its incorporation into the retirement program, which is nearing closure, eventually today or no later tomorrow,” he added.
This morning, a group of approximately 300 elements of the defunct Federal Police clashed against SSC police, having taken access to Terminal 1 of Mexico City International Airport (AICM) – where road chaos was caused by more than 8 hours that affected thousands of users – in protest at their annexation to the National Guard.
