The Organizing Committee of Paro ITAM issued its request specification and informed that plans to remain unemployed next Monday, December 16 until the authorities of the institution respond to 100% of its demands and sign the commitments and actions to be taken.
Students have reported that overwork at ITAM affects the mental health of students, something they accuse, this house hasn’t been enough worried about.
While they thanked management for offering alternative dates for the final exams still pending, they stressed the importance of making institutional changes to prioritize the psychological, emotional and integrity of students.

In their request specification, students request that the alternative dates of the final exams be held within the period of the Spring 2020 semester beginning on 13 January and alternative solutions to those affected by unemployment be provided to those who do not.
One of its demands is to generate a strategy of attention and accompaniment in mental health issues, comprehensive and accessible to students that promotes an institutional policy of zero tolerance to pedagogical violence and school harassment.
Another action they call for is to reform the student support office, starting with the replacement of the current holder with a person specialized in mental health, to operate autonomously.

Also, create a transparent reporting protocol that tracks accusations against teachers and administrative staff for situations that violate their mental health. Based on the results reconsider your hirings.

In their petition statement, they also call for the promote of mental health among the community through plant psychologists who support emotional restraint and deal with addictions through targeted programs.
As well as compulsory and regular training, by an autonomous institution specialized in mental health, psychology, pedagogy, gender perspective and sex-generic diversity, for the teaching and management staff of ITAM.
Another of your requests is to improve recreational facilities.
Also modify the evaluation criteria, especially of the departments of Law and Economics, and the processes of justification of faults, prioritizing the mental health of students, with special consideration for chronic diseases.
ITAM students demand that the school publish statistics and results of reports of harassment and violence among the community.
Include a student on the Coordination Board, who must have a say; and renew the Head of the General Studies Department.

Their requests include the immediate resignation of Professor Issac Katz and disciplinary proceedings to be opened against the teachers accused in the Assembly held on Friday 13 December.
“All above petitions must be fully funded by the institution without affecting SALITAM’s resources. We also demand that no retaliation be made against any student who has participated in any way in this Student Movement,” they stated in their petition statement.
ITAM reported that this Sunday, December 15, it will unveil an action plan with specific short-, medium- and long-term measures involving extensive dialogue and participation of students, professors and university authorities.
