Morelia, Michoacán.- Through a statement it has been reported that the Municipal Institute of Physical Culture and Sport (IMCUFIDE), exceeded the goal and even exceeded the 100 Schools of Sports Initiation, installed and operated by government of Morelia, with the attention to just over 2,400 children and adolescents in rural and urban areas.
In line with the strategic axes of the municipal administration, headed by Raúl Morón Orozco, IMCUFIDE through the Department of Sports Development, closes 2019 with permanent work in a total of 103 Schools of Sports Initiation.
This was made known by the director general of the paramunicipal, Francisco Javier Torres Zambrano, who stated that through these schools they have taken services of measurement of motor capacities throughout this municipality, and that is where they come from the basis for Sports Initiation Schools.
The sports disciplines that are taught to the population are: Chess; Triathlon, Swimming, Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Handball, Martial Arts, Taekwondo, Fitness and Tochito; for primary and secondary level children, in the case of higher middle-schoolers only football, volleyball and basketball.
The 103 Sports Initiation Schools work in around 26 colonies, communities and tenures, as well as in sports units managed by paramunicipal. Among those highlights the holdings of San Miguel del Monte; Santiago Undameo, Tiripetío, San Nicolás Obispo, Teencia Morelos and Capula.
In the case of the urban area, they work with children, adolescents and young people from the Xangari colonies; Lomas de Santiaguito, Villas del Pedregal, Primo Tapia Oriente, Arco San Antonio, Expropriation Petrolera, among others. While, Cuto del Porvenir, Jewel of Buenavista and Cotzurio, are some of the communities; the sports units are: Miguel Hidalgo, Morelos Indeco and Josefa Ocampo de Mata.
IMCUFIDE maintains the purpose of working on the strategic axes of Health, Massification and Competition, so by 2020, the goal is to reach the 119 schools in operation.
