Morelia, Michoacán.- Through a statement it has been reported that the Municipal President of Morelia, Raúl Morón Orozco, led the Civic Commemoration Ceremony of the CCIV Luctuous Anniversary of Generalísimo Don José María Morelos y Pavón, having as its headquarters the Square that bears in honor of its name in the capital of Michoacana.
In the presence of state and municipal officials, the director of the Natal House of Morelos, José Fabián Ruíz, considered that the best tribute to the memory of José María Morelos, is to continue to remember his struggle and legacy that to this day continues to be manifested.
He pointed out that it is the “Servant of the Nation” to whom we owe the freedom enjoyed by all Mexicans, as well as the emergence of the institutions that represent us.
He also called for Not forgetting Morelos, whom he identified as a person willing to give everything for his people even at the time of being shot, without fear of his fate, on the afternoon of December 22, 1815.
Finally, authorities made the deposit of floral offering at the morelos monument, set up guard of honor and honored the labaro patrio.
This ceremony was attended by the Governor of the State, Iván Fernando Barrales, of the Government Secretariat, Cuauhtémoc Montero Esquivel, the 2nd Infantry Commander, Emilio Barajas, with the representation of the State Congress, the Deputy Sandra Luz Valencia, of the Penthatlon Deportivo Militarizado Universitario, Luis Ignacio Mota Catalán, as well as the Secretary of the City Council, Humberto Arroniz Reyes.
