Morelia, Michoacán.- The Ministry of Education in the State noted that the Michoacana University of San Nicolás de Hidalgo is committed to supporting the University of San Nicolás de Hidalgo but it is necessary for academic and administrative workers to help to achieve the sanitation process transparency. However, it was detailed that at the moment only the Teachers Union of the Michoacana University has taken the necessary actions for the consolidation of university finances, while the Single Employees’ Union of the Michoacana University has not accepted amendments and intends to continue to have prerogatives in its retirement system and in its related and non-related benefits outside the financial agreement, such as dynamic and complete retirement at 25 years of work, among others.
It was also detailed that: “550 million pesos are required for the payment of labour commitments which can only be granted as indicated by the current agreement, if the commitments agreed last year for structural reform and sanitation are met financial lyquartering the university, if the pension and retirement system is updated according to the legal framework just as dozens of universities did so nearly two decades and managed to have structural reforms for healthy finances.”
Finally, the unit recognized the autonomy of the Michoacana University of San Nicolás de Hidalgo and its effort to provide free care to more than 50,000 students from 17 states of the republic 10% of whom live in student hostels subsidized by the institution itself.
