An armed group murdered the mayor of Jalapa de Díaz, Arturo García Velázquez, and the trustee Javier Terrero, at a new year-end party at the Municipal DIF.
On Monday, workers held a meeting by the end of the year, attended by the building and the trustee, among other municipal officials, and the gunmen broke in to end the festivities.
Elements of the State Attorney General’s Office arrived at the crime scene to lift the bodies, as well as evidence to initiate investigations that give clues to the motive of the attack and locate potential assailants.
According to the newspaper Reforma, on October 24, García Velázquez was arrested for carrying six weapons for the exclusive use of the Army, although a week later he was acquitted and a judge ordered his release.
“I have been confirmed of the cowardly murder of our comrades; municipal president of Jalapa de Díaz, Arturo García and his Municipal Satin Javier Terrero occurred about 30 minutes ago. A few weeks ago the president was wrongfully imprisoned,” Morena’s senator Solomon Jara posted on his Twitter account.
“He reported the persecution of which was the subject of the state security forces, as well as facts that violated his security. Security managers in the state ignored, no security was provided,” he added.
I count this artery murder and demand justice, I do not trust the state prosecutor’s office, I request that the federal authorities appeal the case.
