The National Emergency Office (Onemi) unveiled a new stock sheet this morning of forest fires in the country.
According to the agency, until 06:40 hours today, there are a total of 16 nationally registered wildfires, of which 1 is active and 15 are controlled.
The fires considered relevant by the institution correspond to the regions of Valparaiso, Metropolitana, O’Higgins, Maule and La Araucanía.
In Valparaíso, the office reports that the accident is kept under control in Fundo La Plantación 2, which caused damage to 245 homes in the Cerro Rocuant and Cerro San Roque sectors.
In addition, during the week, firestorms were declared, one of which forced the declaration of red alert for the communes of Viña del Mar and Valparaíso due to the fire started in the Tranque sector.
Likewise, 971 customers are maintained without power service, due to problems in the facility called «LT 110 kv Laguna Verde – Agua Santa cto 1 and 2».
Due to the above, The Onemi reports that 2 hostels are kept enabled: the Valparaiso Women’s Technical Lyceum, where families affected by the fire are being housed and the German School that is being used as a warehouse for the women’s wares Affected.
In addition, a vaccination point was established at the Rayen Children’s Garden, located on Cerro Rocuant, for all volunteers who remain cooperating in the cleaning and removal of debris.
In the Metropolitan Region, the forest fire of El Canelo was already controlled, which consumed an area of 964 ha of vegetation in the commune of San José de Maipo and forced the Metropolitan Intendencia to declare yellow alert in the area.
In the region of O’Higgins, there is the forest fire «Cerro Colorado», which consumes an area of approximately 44 ha of vegetation in the commune of La Estrella.
In the Maule Region, in the area of Picazo Bajo (San Clemente, 25), a volunteer brigade and a helicopter were stationed.
Finally, in La Araucanía, the forest fire «Lumaquina 2» is kept under control, which consumes an area of approximately 213.9 has of vegetation in the commune of Lumaco.
