“Fragmented purchases were made for $99,314,949 to audio provider for Maipeluza event, not in accordance with the provisions of the Ministry of Finance,” the counterpart held.
In addition, purchases made via Direct Deal for $195,333,509 for Maipeluza event were not justified. “In addition to 17 other contracts via Direct Deal, totaling $285,029,739, all without providing the necessary justification.”
The auditing authorities also noted in its report that “15,000 toys with FAEP money should not have been bought. For the same reason, the Municipality has allocated this cost to the account of the Municipal Corporation (non-tax money)”.
They will also have to replenish $1,428,000 for painting a vehicle, “with only two months of use, there is no justification.”
“If beneficiaries are not accredited, $16,450,560 must be returned per purchase of 480 sun-shaped necklaces, 486 velvet boxes, and 1,500 corporate umbrellas,” he adds.
