translated from Spanish: FYL unemployed students agree to dialogue with UNAM

Students of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters and UNAM authorities agreed a dialogue for the next January 15, with the aim of meeting their demands for gender-based violence, which is why the campus has remained unemployed since last November.
In a statement, the faculty led by Jorge Enrique Linares Salgado gave a proposal last Friday, January 3, to the collective Mujeres Organizeds, which had an answer this January 7.

“The Women Organized of the FFYL we respond to the call for dialogue issued by the Directorate on January 3, 2020. We set the date on January 15 of this year at the proposed time (10:00 am) in the Pillars,” the group published.
The proposal made by the authorities is that the exercise be carried out in the agora of the Samuel Ramos library or in the Cherry Garden of the Faculty, in the morning hours of 10 to 14 hrs., to which “all members of the community who wish to witness the dialogue can attend”.

It also requests that the table be composed of the Directorate of the Faculty and two representatives of the Technical Council: the dean professor and one of the students; by three representatives of the Rector’s Office of the University, as well as by the organized students who are appointed by their peers.
The proposed agenda also provides for the revision of formal complaints that have not been resolved by the university authority, as well as those that have not been formalized; courses on gender-based violence in curricula; psychological support for victims and whistleblowers, and the preservation of murals made during unemployment, among others.
“We look forward to reaching out to the resumption of school activities, as approved by the Technical Council in the time,” the activities said in a statement.
