translated from Spanish: Notaries reform notes historic progress after being dispatched by the House of Deputies to the Senate

An important step forward in its processing had this noon the bill that modernizes the registration and notary system, after completing its processing in the Chamber of Deputies, when it was approved by 132 votes in favor.
This is a historic development, since no initiative put forward in this area, to improve the notarial system, had made so much progress in Congress.
With what happened today in the Chamber chamber, the bill will now begin to be seen, in the second constitutional process, by the Senate Constitution Commission.
The initiative, in short, seeks to modernize the current notarial and registration system, setting higher standards of transparency, increasing competition (especially with the creation of fedatarians), reducing levels of discretion appointments and incorporating new technologies that allow greater and easier access for users to procedures and services, speeding up waiting times and reducing costs.
“Today we took a historic step in approving the reform to the notary system, after more than a year of processing in the Chamber of Deputies, where we were able to refine this initiative that will allow people to be able to carry out their notarized procedures more quickly, without having to ask for permission at work an entire morning to go to the notary, shortening the ranks and delivering greater access, thanks to the creation of the featarians who will be throughout the country to carry out all the simplest and most daily procedures that requires people,” said Justice and Human Rights Minister Hernán Larraín.
In this regard, the Minister also stressed that a “denotization” bill will be introduced soon, which will be complementary to the one adopted today in the House, and which would seek to eliminate the obligation to carry out more than 25 formalities before notaries.
For his part, the Undersecretary of Justice, Sebastián Valenzuela, indicated that “we are moving on the right line, since this project will mean a huge increase in the quality of life of people, because the time we waste we subtract from the most important thing in our lives: family, friends, culture, sport and recreation.”
