translated from Spanish: CEPAVIF and SEPYC seek to raise awareness of family violence

Culiacan, Sinaloa.- The Law on the Prevention and Care of Family Violence of the State of Sinaloa indicates that authorities such as the Secretary of Public Education and Culture are key to the prevention of the crime of family violence, which is part of Articles 6 and 7.La family violence is any act of power or omission that has the effect of dominating, subduing, controlling or physically, verbally, psycho-emotional, sexually, financially or heritage-based any family member, within or outside the home family members, with whom they have a blood kinship, have or have been related by affinity or civil, by bond of marriage, concubinate or de facto relationship and that causes harm or suffering.

Thus, to kick-start the 2020 work on training and awareness-raising, CEPAVIF owner Gabriela Inzunza Castro and the head of the PESyC Parent Unit, Azucena Peñuelas met to agree on a work agenda with the fathers’and mothers’ committees of the 18 municipalities and thus to be aware of living in good treatment, values and equality.

Gabriela Inzunza Castro indicated that once the information and training is gathered and the committees are provided, it would expand to the other parents of preschool to secondary schools, fulfilling this with the entrusting that the Governor Quirino Ordaz Coppel delivered last December to the current headline to work tirelessly for Sinaloan society.
