The Michoacán State Commission on Human Rights (ECHR) called on the authorities of the entity to intensify the search for the forest defender.
“With file MOR/037/2020 the agency carries out the respective steps, in order to contribute to the search and location tasks of the administrator of Ejido El Rosario, in the municipality of Ocampo,” he published.

Gómez is 50 years old and presides over the administration of the sanctuary El Rosario de la Mariposa Monarca, located in the East region of Michoacán, which was opened last November. 

The sanctuary was born as part of an environmental care strategy, despondency of clandestine logging, and the launch of the Tourist Police.
