The inhabitants who get the first five places, according to the government of San Nicolás, will have a prize of 5 thousand pesos, “as well as nutrition advice and 6 months subscription in a gym”.
Between 2012 and 2018, the percentage of people with obesity in Mexico rose from 71.3 to 75.2%. According to the National Health and Nutrition Survey (ENSANUT) 2018, currently 3 out of 4 adults in the country live with this condition.
