Two girls and a woman were killed in an armed attack in Santiago Ixtayutla, Oaxaca, the State Attorney General’s Office reported.
The bodies of the girls, aged 2 and 7, and the woman, 32, were found on Saturday in the el Huamuche population, Ixtayutla, and had gunshot wounds, authorities said in a statement.

Five other people injured by firearms fire, including two children aged 2 and 3 and three adults aged 21, 26 and 44, were also reported in the IMSS hospital in Jamiltepec.

The Oaxaca Prosecutor’s Office said it activated the Protocol of Ministerial, Police and Expert Investigation of Femicide’s Crime and initiated the research folder 2908/FCOS/PINOTEPA/2020.
«Rigour will be taken with those who are against the integrity of children and women,» the Public Prosecutor’s Office said.
