Uruapan, Michoacán.- Eleven corpses were located in a clandestine pit on a site of the La Loma colony in this city of Uruapan. It is presumed that the matter has to do with account adjustments between rival criminal groups, government sources said.
On the matter, the Attorney General’s Office released tonight of 2 February in a press release: “Derived from investigative tasks, the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Michoacán (FGE) located a site that was used for clandestine burials, in the La Loma colony, in this city.
“As part of the research carried out for the location of a person reported as missing, staff of the Prosecutor’s Office obtained information that, in an accommodation located on the old road to Zumpimito, there were excavations and land Removed that they were covered with branches, so once the staff of the Crime Scene Specialized Unit, carried out the inspection at the site, it became apparent that there were human remains at the site.
“During the work that has so far been carried out in the area, 11 decaying corpses were located, which were transferred to the Forensic Medical Service, in accordance with the protocols, for the practice of the necropsy of the law and the respective expert opinions.
“Staff of the State Attorney General’s Office remain in place to continue the inspection and carry out the corresponding investigative acts that allow the clarification of the facts, contemplated and sanctioned by article 185 of the Penal Code of the State of Michoacán, the General Law on the Subject of Enforced Disappearance of Persons and Disappearance Committed by Individuals, as well as other criminal conduct arising”.
