Morelia, Michoacán.- People who are caught consuming alcoholic beverages during the Parade of Petate Toritos that will take place next Saturday in the Historic Center Morelia will be creditors of fines ranging from 434 to 3 thousand 40 pesos, reported by the commissioner for security in Morelia, Julisa Suárez Bucio.
In media interview, the official recalled that the consumption of alcoholic beverages on public roads is strictly prohibited and the day the parade is held will be no exception.
“We are setting up a whole security device for this parade that includes checking that they are not consumed due to alcoholics, we hope that people will listen to it or if they are not going to be creditors to fines ranging from 5 to 35 UMAS, i.e. from 434 to the 3 thousand 40 pesos, in addition to being carried with the Civic Judge, who will define the social sanction he will perform,” he explained.
He acknowledged that banning the sale of alcohol in convenience stores that are distributed in the Historic Center is complicated and that is why the city council is asking the population to respect this measure or of what they will be fined.
