«To respect the due process and the stealth principle of investigations, we cannot give more information about this case,» the unit said.
The extradition trial against Macías Tubilla will begin until November 16.
Karime was arrested on 29 October 2019 after appearing before the UK judicial authorities for the extradition process requested by Mexico.
A British judge granted him to continue his process in release with the payment of a bond equivalent to 3.7 million pesos.
In addition, it determined that Karime must report daily to the police station closest to her home and carry an electronic bracelet; your passport was secured, and you cannot go to any international port of departure or buy travel tickets.
Macias can continue to live in that country along with his three children, although he must remain traceable to prove that he has not escaped.
Karime Macías’s extradition request, which was filed by the then Attorney General’s Office with the United Kingdom on behalf of the Prosecutor’s Office of Veracruz, is based on a single piece of evidence: the indictment of Juan Antonio Nemi Dib, former director of the DIF, who allegedly said Javier Duarte’s wife ordered to pay 112 million 213,844 pesos to phantom companies.
The other evidence to achieve extradition is 28 state DIF contracts with phantom companies, in which his signature does not appear, according to court documents to which Animal Político had access.
In addition, Nemi Dib had already rectified his statements against Javier Duarte’s wife.
