translated from Spanish: “Eminences used a charge for personal gain”: AMLO

After the dismissal of Miguel Angel Celis from the leadership of the National Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador noted that some “eminences” used their position sympathizers for personal gain rather than that of the collective.
“It has been questioned because it is an eminence. Who knows Eminence for what. Because that also said of the technocrats, who were eminences and look at how they left the country, sometimes eminences to gain personal gain,” the President of the Republic said in an interview.
The doctor was removed from his position days after the secretary of the Civil Service, Irma Eréndira Sandoval, made a surprise visit to the Institute, in the face of signs of lack of equipment and medical supplies.
The decision was taken on 21 February by the Board of Government of the Institute after a deliberation of more than five hours.
In this regard, the federal representative considered that such decisions are being made to clean sequeite the government and its corruption institutions.
“These are decisions that are made, in this case I think the Secretary of Health, and we will continue to carry out the changes, is that we have to clean up the government completely of corruption,” he said.
The President of the Republic questioned that conservative groups are dedicated to criticizing the actions his government is undertaking to root out corruption when they, he said, dedicated themselves to destroying the country.
The first representative spoke after participating with the governor of Durango, José Rosas Aispuro, and the head of the Secretariat of Communications and Transport, Javier Jiménez Espriú, in the inauguration of the Sahuatenipa vehicle bridge of the Los Herrera-Tamazula road.
