The director of the Industrial and Commercial Technical Secondary School (ESTIC) 52 Jaime Torres Bodet, Omar Soberanis Galeana, held the students of the campus responsible for “provoking” sexual harassment against them, when they reported that their colleagues recorded them under the uniform.
The students, who recorded the principal’s statements, released the audio and organized a protest this February 25 in front of the management of the campus, which is in Cuautitlán Izcalli, State of Mexico.

In the video, the director is heard as “you yourself provoke these situations (sexual harassment),” to which the students responded by holding the protest A rapist on your way.

Subsequently, Soberanis Galeana scolded the students by telling them, “Learn to listen, it was said that you allow it because you already knew about photographs, videos and never denounced it,” he argued.

However, students immediately expressed their inconformity with the statements.

Just the day the principal took responsibility for the students, the school announced measures and different actions to promote gender equity and prevent bullying.
“We believe that communication and decision-making should be a responsible and informed exercise. For this reason they will soon know the different collective actions with regional and state institutional support that will be carried out in the institution”.
