Through a statement, the former Minister of Justice, Javiera Blanco referred to the complaint against her that this day the Council for the Defence of the State (CDE) presented, for her alleged responsibility for the repeated crime of embezzlement of public flows and for forgery and/or use of false public instrument.
“I have never received reserved expenses and I have made it known in the cause,” he said. On her resignation as a counsellor for the CDE, a position she held between February 2017 and October 2018, she stated that she was “precisely in line with transparency so that the agency could exercise all the actions it deems necessary”.
“As I have permanently done, and I will certainly continue to work with justice to come to the truth, to that much-needed truth, especially these days,” he added.
“In the processes in which I have been cited, and that is public knowledge, I have contributed all the background, data and documents that I have been asked to do, even beyond what is required,” the former undersecretary of Carabineros added.
In 2018, Blanco testified as a witness for the case of the millionaire fraud in Carabineros, an opportunity where he claimed not to have received reserved expenses. The prosecutor had six testimonies linking her to the irregular use of these funds.
