Vanessa Bryant, the widow of the late American basketball player Kobe Bryant, posted the first photo of her family after the helicopter crash that claimed the lives of her husband and second daughter Gianna.In the picture, posted on Instagram, Bryant and their daughters Natal Bianka, 3-year-old Bianka, 3-year-old Bianka and seven-month-old Capri, are posing in front of a mural in Los Angeles with the image of Kobe and Gigi, as they told the 13-year-old teenager, who died on Sunday, January 26 of this year.
The widow, of Mexican descent, accompanied the photo with a snippet of the lyrics to the song “Smile” by American jazz singer Nat King Cole.
Smile even if your heart hurts, smile even if it’s breaking. When there are clouds in the sky, you’re going to make it. If you smile through fear and sadness, smile and maybe tomorrow you’ll see the sun rise for you,” Vanessa Bryant wrote.
The quartet took the image on Sunday before Natalia, who they call Nani, attended a formal winter dance at her school as part of the activities of the school she graduates from this high school year. Vanessa Bryant had posted Nani’s photo that day alone in front of the mural suggesting that the whole family was together.
This is the first sign that Kobe Bryant’s family is beginning to try to recover their routine after the tragedy and this is the second time the widow and girls have seen each other since. The first time was during the public funeral of the former sportsman and his daughter, which took place at the stadium of the Los Angeles Lakers basketball team in which Bryant developed his career as a professional athlete.
