translated from Spanish: Sheinbaum announces closure of cinemas, bars and sports at CDMX by COVID-19

The head of government of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum, announced the closure of museums, bars, dens, nightclubs, steam baths, gyms, mass events in churches, cinemas, theaters, sports centers and zoos, as measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
These services will have two or three days, until Wednesday, to make the necessary adjustments before closing them.
Only events of less than 50 people will be allowed.

Restaurants will also have to close, but Sheinbaum said he hopes to hold a meeting this week with the National Chamber of The Restaurant Industry and Seasoned Foods (Canirac).
“It’s a call, it’s mandatory, but you’ll see if there will be sanctions,” she said, asked about the possibility of imposing fines on anyone who disobeys the closing order.
The closures will be maintained for the time that the Day of Healthy Distance is extended that has also forced the closure of schools and universities, that is, between tomorrow and April 16.
What won’t close will be the supermarkets, so Sheinbaum called for calm and assured that there will be no undoing.
Mexico City has detected 45 contagions, of which 3 are hospitalized.

“The goal is the increased number of close-ups and decreased spread doing the least economic damage,” Sheinbaum said.
To support workers in sectors affected by pandemic closures, the Government of Mexico City plans for an economic support plan, he said. Details about this program, and whether it will be intended only for companies or also employees in informal economy, will be offered next Tuesday.
“It’s the city government’s goal is to slow down,” he said.
He also urged employers to be “solidarity” and not to withdraw wages despite closures.

These programs will “depend on the availability of resources”.
The head of government said she hopes to reduce traffic in Mexico City by 50%.
Regarding the administration, Sheinbaum recalled the measures announced last week: people with dependent children, over 68 years of age or at-risk population, such as pregnant women and previous illnesses, will be able to work from home. “There’s not going to be a reduction in income for those staying at home,” he reiterated.
For those who have symptoms, Sheinbaum recalled that they should send an SMS to 51515 with the message “covid19”.
“Let people who may have contagion stay at home and we’re going to visit them,” he said.
On the Health System, Sheinbaum noted that there will be two hospitals of the health institutes, 2 from ISSSTE, 2 from IMSS and four from Mexico City destined for coronavirus.
Asked whether it ruled out community contagions, i.e. among people who have travelled abroad, Sheinbaum merely asked citizens to follow official information.
