With half the planet quarantined (or social isolation, as you prefer), it’s time to release new content to entertain Earthlings and streaming platforms understand that. This time it’s Hulu’s turn, Disney’s service where the most adult productions that don’t take place at Disney+, home to the content for the whole family, will stop. This is how we get the first trailer for “Solar Opposites”, the new series by Justin Roiland, one of the renowned creators of the popular “Rick and Morty”. This time he leaves aside his partner Dan Harmon and forms a new creative duo with Mike McMahan, another of the writers of the famous show. The advance introduces us to an alien family that sits in the suburbs of North America, as they try to fit into society and understand the codes and rules of humans.
While the second half of the fourth season of “Rick and Morty” continues to be desired, this new series will premiere in May via the Hulu platform, with its eight episodes available to flip marathon. The recognizable postmodern style of its creators, so particular and acidic, is present in the trailer with elements such as a monster attack in the city, several violent bird deaths, an invitation to use drugs and a “pupa” that vomits little creatures aliens if you eat a lot of candy. Co-creator Justin Roiland (who has already lent his voice to the two protagonists of “Rick and Morty”) is also part of the voice cast of this new series, again playing two characters. This time they add Mary Mack (from “Golan, the Unsatiable”) and Sean Giambrone, an experienced double designer. The title, which translates as “Solar Opposites”, probably refers to the home planet of this family, but we will have to wait for its premiere next May 8, to find out more details. In this note:
