translated from Spanish: Festival brings together music and sport to raise funds to beat Covid-19

The state of alarm decreed in Spain because of the Covid-19 assumes that its inhabitants must remain at least three more weeks without leaving their homes. In this context, LaLiga, in collaboration with Banco Santander, Universal Music, and the rest of its sponsors, among others, met at the first global impact charity festival that seeks to raise funds to acquire products needed to combat the Covid-19 pandemic.
LaLigaSantander Fest is a solidarity macro-match that will bring together for the first time 20 top-level artists in a virtual way and that will have the presence of footballers from all the clubs of LaLiga, in a solidarity festival that will be broadcast this Saturday 28 March, from 14:00 Chilean time through ESPN2 & ESPN Play. It will also be available on this link and on social networks in @LaLiga
Among the guests are players from the Spanish first division such as Iván Rakitic (FC). Barcelona), Sergio Ramos and Lucas Vázquez (Real Madrid), Iker Muniain (Athletic Bilbao), Koke (Atlético Madrid) and Jesús Navas (Sevilla FC), while among the artists will join this show Alejandro Sanz, David Bisbal, Camila Gallardo, Yatra, Juanes, Luciano Pereyra, Mon Laferte, Luis Fonsi, Pablo Alborán and Miriam Rodríguez in an extensive list of talents that will put music, rhythm and optimism to this festival.
The donations, which can be made through Fundación Santander through various routes that will be released soon, will aim to raise funds for the acquisition of health equipment, always in coordination with the health authorities and the CSD.
“From LaLiga, we wanted to support all those people who will face their third weekend of quarantine while raising funds to acquire sanitary equipment. We are very happy with the great response we have received from all fronts. Footballers, clubs, artists and sponsors, all have turned to us in this initiative. And I am convinced that among all of us we are going to create something very big,” said ElLiga’s Director of Business and International Development at LaLiga.
“At this very complex time for the world and particularly for Spain, Universal Music and our Company of Live and Management GTS (Global Talent Services) we have wanted to participate in the creation and development of this charitable initiative together with La Liga Profesional de Futbol and its sponsors, with the solidarity support of world-class artists and athletes, aware of the global impact of the pandemic caused by COVID19, where each from our homes we have to be more united than ever. Our commitment as leading companies in the entertainment sector is to continue to support the world of culture and sport in all its disciplines and adapt to the circumstances and needs of all, so that within adversity we do not stop working for a better world,” said Narcís Rebollo, president of Universal Music Spain & Portugal and GTS.
