Caracas.- Venezuela on Saturday received 55 tons of medical materials and drugs from China, a country that offered the government of Nicolás Maduro experts and information to help stop the contagions of COVID-19, a disease that has already claimed two victims in the South American nation. The cargo, which is part of the Asian giant’s second delivery to its Latin American ally and combines purchases with humanitarian aid, arrived after 13 p.m. on the largest ramp of Maiquetía International Airport, the country’s main airport serving Caracas.
“The Chinese government is ready to send a group of specialists to Venezuela in support of this great struggle of the Venezuelan people,” the Chinese ambassador to Venezuela, Li Baorong, said from the place.
