translated from Spanish: People with COVID-19 symptoms on CDMX will receive medical kit: Sheinbaum

Mexico City Head of Government Claudia Sheinbaum announced the delivery of medical kits to households of people with COVID-19 symptoms in the country’s capital.
“This kit is going to be distributed at home and contains essentially a head covering, a thermometer, gel and some other orientations, particularly a triptych,” Sheinbaum said on Sunday, in a conference.
The capitalist said that people who have symptoms of COVID-19, such as dry cough, runny nose, body pain, headache, temperature, may send an SMS with the word covid19 to number 51515.
Then they’ll be asked questions. “People who are identified according to this screening who is likely to have COVID-19 are contacted by a doctor, a doctor who is at LOCATEL.
This doctor continues to ask questions and from there, from those questions is discarded and you have in the end a person who has a high chance of having” the disease, explained the head of government.
If the person with symptoms has IMSS, then IMSS is responsible for the delivery of the medical kit.
“And if you don’t have IMSS, then the City Government will take you this kit that will allow you to pass the disease in better condition and be able to have a smaller contagion inside the house,” Sheinbaum said.
In the delivery of the kits, the head of government reported, health brigades will participate.
“There are 123 brigades, but also brigades of people of Citizen Participation who have voluntarily agreed and who will be perfectly isolated, to be able to distribute a medical support kit for the maintenance of people who have these symptoms inside their home,” he said.
Dr. Mauricio Hernández Avila, director of Economic and Social Benefits, said that the medical kit has a 14-day bed cover end, which lasts the incubation period of the disease.
The goal, he said, is for people with symptoms to use it to minimize transmission to the interior of the home.
“30 percent of the contagion is occurring in households and we know that from data from Spain, the United Kingdom, and the US,” the official said.
