A few hours after the meeting of Claudia Repetto’s femicide in Mar del Plata, it was reported that Haydé Salazar, who had been missing for 6 days, was found lifeless in the vicinity of the city of San Carlos de Bariloche. Preliminary investigation points to possible suicide. The woman was 54 years old and was intensely wanted by her family and authorities from Sunday, March 22.

According to the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Rio Negro, the body was found on Saturday 28/3 in the area of the bard of the stream of Thereco. During the operation, prosecutor Betiana Cendón was present “to rule out any indication of criminality”. The body was sent to the court morgue to undergo an autopsy with which they seek to determine the causes of death. Early information indicates death by hanging. No trace of other injuries was found. This, coupled with the discovery of a piece of cloth that, they believe, may have used to take his life. During the search they also found the woman’s cell phone, which will be subjected to experts in search of valuable information.
From the outset, prosecutor Betiana Cendón ordered the investigation of the case in the context of gender-based violence, so the woman’s former partners were questioned. However, the steps yielded a negative result. In the search operation, staff of the Second Police Station, the Research Area and the Canes Brigade of the Río Negro Police, National Parks and National Gendarmería intervened.Salazar had disappeared on Sunday 22/3 when around 17 he left his home at Calle Los Rodales at 700, Bariloche, and did not return, so his family made the complaint.
