Morelia, Michoacán.- The mayor of Morelia, Raúl Morón Orozco, asked the bars and restaurants that still operate at night to respect the security measures of healthy distance and cleanliness within their facilities or the contario could already be sanctioned.
At a press conference where the building announced new measures to prevent Covid-19 coronavirus, he said that last weekend the city council conducted a surprise operation in this business turn to check if they were respecting the protective measures such as the installation of sanitary filters and that only have 40% of their capacity.
In that regard, it acknowledged that two bars that still open their doors in Morelia exceeded capacity and registered up to 70% of their capacity, but for the time being asked to respect the rule or else they will be fined if they did it again.
He estimated that in all Morelia there are only 50 bars and restaurants that open at night and ruled out being ordered to close, since many of these shops only record between 10 and 30% capacity.
In the case of party rooms, Morón Orozco said that they are strictly forbidden to open or hold events, since it is a risk for the population to attend parties or meetings in such establishments.
