The World Health Organization, in conjunction with Global Citizen, announced a music festival with a number of international artists and different genres. The event to be streamed seeks to pay tribute to health workers facing the coronavirus pandemic. The event, called “One World: #TogetherAtHome”, curated by Lady Gaga, will take place on April 18 and will bring together figures such as Maluma, Billie Eilish, J Balvin, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Paul McCartney, Eddie Vedder, Alanis Morrissette and Andrea Bocelli. It was at a press conference in conjunction with WHO, where Lady Gaga commented that “we are very grateful to all health professionals around the world who are on the front line in the fight against the pandemic, which is a catastrophe.” Over the past seven days, the singer, together with Global Citizen, has managed to raise $35 million (32.39 million euros) for the WHO Solidarity Response Fund, with the aim of improving the availability of personal protective equipment (PPE), children’s testing and improving laboratory testing capacity. “Research is very important to end the epidemic and prevent future outbreaks,” Gaga added.
