The Minister of Social Development, Daniel Arroyo, asked Gonzalo Calvo, secretary of The Social Policy Articulation and responsible for the purchase of more expensive foods earlier this week, to resign. The decision generated controversy yesterday as some foods such as noodles or oil were bought above the value sold in supermarkets and warehouses. Prior to the Ministry of Social Development, Calvo had worked in Admiral Brown’s quartermaster with Mariano Cascallares. There he was part of the Secretariat of Safety, Justice and Road Agency.
