Morelia, Michoacán.- Faced with the health emergency and the risks of coVID-19 spread, the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) has strengthened the safety and hygiene measures inside and outside hospitals, in order to preserve the integrity and health of medical and family personnel who come for information from their patients.
IMSS calls for an end to assaults against medical personnel, which is the country’s first line of battle with the health emergency.
In order to prevent the relatives of the sick from going to hospitals to wait for medical parties, IMSS will inform them by telephone of the evolution in the health of their patients. This will prevent the chain of contagion from increasing.
Only in cases where a companion is required by medical indication, the accompanying person shall be notified of the protective measures that he/she must follow in order to be with his/her patient.
Within sanitary facilities only access and mobility of personnel following health safety protocols is allowed; however, people who remain outside hospitals are at high risk of contagion.
