Pátzcuaro, Michoacán.- From this Wednesday the public markets of Pátzcuaro will open their trade from 8:00 until 14:00 hours and only the installation of traders selling products of basic need will be allowed. The official determination responds to the uptick in people confirmed by the health sector infected with COVID-19 in the municipality, seeking to prevent the pandemic outbreak from exceeding the available health care capacity.
For as long as it is deemed necessary for the containment of the pandemic caused by COVID-19, traders of clothing, shoes, backpacks, plastics and petrés, accessories and jewellery, discs, cell accessories, leisure items, ornamentation and seasonal clothing will not be permitted.
The municipal authority of Pátzcuaro, headed by municipal President Victor Manuel Báez Ceja, held a meeting on Tuesday with leaders of market traders and carriers, to evaluate the measures that are needed to protect people’s health, understanding it as the fundamental value to during the health crisis.
Through the direction of Markets and Trades in the Public Way, the Municipality of Pátzcuaro made the knowledge of the representatives of traders of the public markets this determination, which adds the mandatory use of cover covers from the notice for traders who will be able to continue their commercial activity, asking them to extend the measure to their customers.
The municipal authority indicated that it will reinforce through its staff the filters that will prevent access to the market to more than one person per family, avoiding the agglomeration of people in these spaces.

The authorities of the Health Jurisdiction of Pátzcuaro reported that most of the people who have become infected with COVID-19 in this municipality, are in the age range of 30 to 49 years, who despite their youth, warns of zero immunity that protects them from contracting the disease, present complications and be a vehicle for the contagion of people and relatives around them.
Seeking to restrict the points of greatest risk, the municipal government determined to restrict the sale of alcohol until 2pm, for all shops that within its turn are authorized to sell it.
