translated from Spanish: Aguas Andinas and Fundación Las Rosas launch solidarity campaign

In order to support those who need it most in the midst of the health crisis for Covid-19 and, at the same time, to promote that its customers stay at home and prefer remote care, Aguas Andinas launched a solidarity campaign to collaborate with Fundación Las Rosas.
Thus, for each customer who registers their email as a communication channel with the company, the company will deliver a monetary contribution that will be used to support the costs of caring for the more than 2,200 vulnerable older adults who host in their homes, one of the sectors of the population most at risk against the virus.
In this way, those who enter http://sumate.aguasandinas.cl will only have to provide the company with their contact details (email and / or cellular) and with this they will activate the delivery of different service notifications, such as alerts to possible contingencies, inform the reading of their meter, receive the ballot or information of solidarity supports, among other advantages.
This initiative will prevent customers from having to travel to the commercial service offices and thus be able to carry out the most common formalities through the website.
“Since the beginning of the pandemic, in Aguas Andinas we have implemented a series of measures to deal with the health emergency. On this occasion, the campaign fulfills the dual objective of incentivizing people not to leave their homes and carry out their formalities online and, at the same time, to be a vehicle to support such a vulnerable segment of the population against the virus, as are older adults,” said Eugenio Rodríguez, Director of Management of the Andean Water Service.
The general manager of Fundación Las Rosas, Edgardo Fuenzalida, explains the broad meaning of such initiatives “We define ourselves as a ‘mendicant’ institution and that is not only ‘ask for help’, but to have the humility to know that this fraternal work for the elderly, which takes 52 years, we lift it and maintain it among all. For this reason, we thank Aguas Andinas for opening this possibility to their customers so that they can contribute and join this work of solidarity for the elderly who need it most”.
Among the many other measures taken by the company to deal with the Coronavirus pandemic are the implementation of independent shifts, telework, voluntary confinement in its plants and sanitary measures within its facilities, in order to ensure continuity of service. In turn, social measures have been intensified to particularly help the most vulnerable customers, such as flexibility to solve problems with unpaid accounts and debt forgiveness.
