This Saturday, a man was confirmed to be killed by the coronavirus in his home in the commune of San Joaquin. Relatives reported through social media that they did not have an prompt response after requesting the withdrawal of the man identified as Luis Sergio Sepúlveda Fuentes and accused that no public body appeared all day.
As noted by the family, the victim was diagnosed with Covid-19 during the week and ordered to quarantine the corresponding home. However, due to some complications, he died yesterday around 3 p.m. From that moment the body remained inside the house, despite attempts by the relatives to contact the authorities to certify the death.
Through its Twitter account, the Municipality of San Joaquin indicated that during the night they cannot perform the lifting of a body, let alone in case of death by Covid-19.
“This corresponds to health services. All efforts have been made with the authorities early on and we will continue to insist,” they explained.
Captain Miguel Cancino, a southern prefectural round officer, told Meganews that police personnel arrived at the deceased’s home during the afternoon, but that the corresponding proceedings were prolonged because there was no certificate that the death had been caused by the virus.
“Coronavirus notifications are being delivered via email. So it is quite lato (extensive) the procedure that was carried out today, but it is the result of confirmation that we also had to make to adopt the procedure accordingly,” commented the uniform.
