The #JFCA ordered @Notimex to stop work, because the arguments put forward by the Agency’s directorate to continue operating lack legal firmness and are inappropriate in the face of a strike, declared legal on 4 March last. #hilo ? pic.twitter.com/fFYSv00G7p

The notification issued by SUTNOTIMEX states that, given “the seriousness” involved in breaching the right to strike, (initiated since 21 February) the judicial body called on the Notimex Governing Board to take steps to comply with the suspension of work.
“The Notimex Single Labour Union (SUTNOTIMEX) welcomes this JFCA resolution, chaired by María Eugenia Navarrete Rodríguez, because this action gives full respect to the labour rights of workers who have been on strike for 83 days,” the union said in a statement.
Notimex workers initiated the strike after reporting unjustified dismissals and violations of the Collective Employment Contract, as well as unwillingness of the agency’s management to review it.
They’re legal arguments, Notimex replies
In response to the resolution of the Conciliation and Arbitration Board, Notimex replied that these are legal arguments, so they will go to appropriate bodies, as it ensures that the agreement issued “is due to vendettas” and is “flawed”.
“Notimex will resort through the corresponding legal channels. That agreement lacks reasonation and reasoning, since there is no award. On the contrary, there is a declaration of illegal strike, which is also at issue,” the agency said.
He asserted that the existence of the strike is “not res judicata,” so the last word is held by the Judiciary of the Federation, and was said open to conciliation.
“On several occasions it has offered the increase in wages and benefits and also the delivery of compensation, but these have never been accepted by the union side,” he said.
