As rumored since the beginning of the week, the Epic Games store announced its free game of the week that is nothing less than Grand Theft Auto V, the latest installment of the popular Rockstar Games franchise.The game will be available from today and until 12 noon next Thursday, May 21. You don’t need to download it at the moment, but simply adding it to the store library game is enough to have it permanently and play it at any time. The version that Epic Games and Rockstar are giving away is the one known as the Premium Online Edition, which includes the full campaign—with all the updates released so far—the Grand Theft Auto Online mode, and the Criminal Enterprise Pack, which offers a million dollars to spend in online mode (equivalent to $10 million in GTA).

The following year the game was re-released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC and confirmed its absolute dominance of the market, selling to today more than 150 million copies around the world and generating an average of $500 million annually through GTA Online mode, a connected universe that allows to live a second life fulfilling missions , adopting roles or just hanging out with friends.
In January of this year Grand Theft Auto V was added to Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass service, and last week was replaced by Red Dead Redemption 2, the studio’s last game. The arrival in the Epic Games store seems to respond to the strategy of attracting new players to the online mode, which is one of the most fundraisers in the industry.
