Messenger Rooms, Facebook’s attempt to compete with Zoom against group video calls, is already in operation. Anyone can create a room in Messenger, and soon you can create rooms also on Instagram and WhatsApp.Users can create it through Facebook or the Messenger app and invite up to 50 people to join a video call, even if they don’t have a Facebook account. In addition, there are no time limits for calls.
This can be done by sharing a link with them or by simply opening one in the Feed and seeing who appears. Rooms are also available in groups and event pages and will have blocking options to prevent intruders or take people out of a group chat. To create a room from your phone, make sure you have the latest version of the Facebook and Messenger mobile apps downloaded from the App Store or Google Play Store. Then, I followed these steps:I opened the Messenger app.
Swipe to the People tab at the bottom right of the screen.
Select Create a room and select the people you want to join.
To share a room with people who don’t have a Facebook account, you can share the link with them. You can also share the link in your feed, groups and events.
