Six older adults have died since 5 May that the COVID-19 outbreak occurred at the Casa del Arbol asylum in Vilahermosa, Tabasco, after the contagion of 10 residents and nine workers of the place was recorded.
The Ministry of Health reported in a statement that the first death occurred on the same day that the outbreak was reported; while last Monday the second was raised, on Tuesday the third and Wednesday the fourth.
This Thursday, he noted, two more older adults died at the High Specialty Hospital “Dr. Juan Graham Casasús”.
The unit detailed that the deceased were three men and three women who, according to medical reports, were unable to overcome the complications of comority aggravated by coronavirus.
According to that report, the nine employees of the hostel managed to save their lives.
The place where the Tree House is located is cordoned off and only people living in that area can pass.
After Mexico City, Tabasco is the entity with the most confirmed coVID-19 cases, considering the rate per 100 thousand inhabitants. As for deaths, it ranks third.
In Nuevo León, because of an outbreak in the Luis Elizondo Retreat House in the municipality of Guadalupe, local authorities reported the deaths of at least two older adults.
On Thursday, state health secretary Manuel de la O said they detected another outbreak in a municipality asylum, although he did not give the name of the establishment where 11 older adults have confirmed COVID-19 contagion.
