translated from Spanish: The new season of The Umbrella Academy arrives on Netflix in July

With a home-hosted video in full quarantine, the cast of The Umbrella Academy announced the new release date for the second season of the Netflix original series. The clip recreates the montage of the first episode of the series, in which the Hargreeves brothers dance to the beat of “I think we’re alone now”, revealing at the end a poster with the release date of the long-awaited premiere season.

The series will arrive in the middle of the American summer on the screen of Netflix, an era usually reserved for the big cinemas, which are currently postponed due to the closing of rooms by the pandemic. The first season premiered worldwide in February last year and was an immediate success among teen audiences, securing its renewal for a continuation. Based on Gerard Way’s eponymous comic (also known as the singer of My Chemical Romance), illustrated by artist Gabriel Ba and published by Dark Horse Comics, umbrella academy’s story revolves around the inexplicable birth of 43 children at the same time in 1989, of mothers who until the previous day showed no signs of pregnancy. In the Netflix adaptation, billionaire Reginald Hargreeves (aka El Monocle) adopts six of them and creates the academy to “train” them and save the world.

Between the two seasons, an unreleased new comic will tell the story of Klaus, the character of Robert Sheehan (right)

After their father’s suicide, the children gather at Sir Hargreeves’ large mansion to solve the mystery of his death and face a series of conflicts unleashed by their contrasting personalities, supernatural powers and the threat of the apocalypse. They are Vanya/The White Violin (Ellen Page), Luther/Spaceboy (Tom Hopper), Diego/The Kraken (David Castañeda), Allison/The Rumor (Emmy Raver-Lampman), Klaus/The Séance (Robert Sheehan) and Number Five/The Boy (Aidan Gallagher). In the new season they also join the cast Ritu Arya, Yusuf Gatewood and Marin Ireland. The series is produced by UCP, a division of NCBUniversal, exclusively for the streaming platform. The authors of the original comic are involved in executive production and the showrunner is Steve Blackman (Fargo, Legion, Altered Carbon), who is back in charge for this second season. Umbrella Academy returns to the Netflix screen simultaneously for everyone on July 31. In this note:
