Mexico City.- The Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, Alfonso Durazo, revealed in La Mañanera President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, that Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) lost about 81 thousand barrels of gasoline a day to huachicoleo. The official detailed that november 2018, a month before receiving government administration, it was the month pemex recorded the highest number of losses in fuel theft.
According to data from the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), at the time of the entry of the AMLO administration, the theft of hydrocarbons is recorded in only 5 thousand barrels of fuel per day. In other words, the Government has managed to recover more than 84 billion pesos that were lost to the theft of fuel.

Insecurity decreases in Mexico
In addition, Alfonso Durazo presented different security data in Mexico, highlighting the trends of the decrease in different crimes that afflict in the country. The theft of vehicles was one of the most downward-prone crimes, especially in the last 3 months. Durazo acknowledged that the work is still not enough, as the ideal is that there should be no variables in the security charts in the country, however he committed to continue working and lowering the figures of the different crimes further.
