translated from Spanish: Treasury is ordered to defrost Hidalgo University accounts

A Collegiate Tribunal ordered the Finance Financial Intelligence Unit (UIF) to defrost six accounts of the Autonomous University of the State of Hidalgo (UAEH), as the authorities have failed to prove their linkage to alleged acts of corruption.
This, more than a year after the Financial Intelligence Unit froze accounts of the Autonomous University of the State of Hidalgo (UAEH) because they were allegedly linked to money laundering.
Unanimously, the members of the Second Collegiate Tribunal of the Twenty-ninth Circuit, composed of the magistrates, Juan Carlos Hinojosa Zamora, José Guadalupe Sánchez González and Aníbal Lafragua Contreras, determined that the UIF’s accusations against the university are based on “documents that it has not actually exhibited”.
While the Treasury unit referred to a communication signed by the Deputy Regional Director of the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), where an alleged investigation was reported to the university, “because it was believed to be involved with a criminal organization operating in Mexico, the truth is that no record of it presented,” they argued.

“It also immediately revokes the resolution that existed against it and leaves this University in full capacity to dispose of the funds deposited in six accounts opened in the HSBC financial institution,” the Tribunal ruled on 15 May, but the notification reached those involved until Last Monday 18.
The university upholded the ruling and said that this “confirms the completeness, transparency and strict adherence to the rule of law with which the administration of the Maximum House of Studies operates in the entity”.
He also said that he would allow the corresponding deadlines for the law to be fully notified.
