President Andrés Manuel López Obrador reported on the murder of local Colima MP Francis Anel Bueno, 38, who had been kidnapped a few days ago.
At his morning conference from Campeche, the federal representative detailed that the body of the Lawmaker of Morena was found in a clandestine pit.
Anel’s disappearance was reported by his relatives on April 29, in the municipality of Ixtlahuacán.

The president added that at the moment there is a man arrested for the facts who have already made his statement to the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
He said the case is in the hands of the Attorney General’s Office of Colima, with the participation of the federal government.
López Obrador lamented the murder of the deputy and sent his condolences to family and friends.

For its part, the Prosecutor’s Office of Colima reported that the body of the deputy was found on a property located near the Tecomán-Alcuzahue road, where there were three clandestine graves in which three other lifeless bodies were recovered.
In a statement, the Prosecutor’s Office added that the members’ relatives have already been alerted.
Francis Anel began her political career in 2006 as a counselor at the municipal PRI of Ixtla-Huácan. From 2012 to 2015 she was political advisor to the state PRI.
From 2015 to 2018 she worked as a personal assistant to the municipal president of Ixtla-Huácan.
In 2018 she joined the Congress of Colima as deputy of Morena for the XVI district.
He currently chaired the Commission for Environmental Protection and Improvement, and was part of the Gender Equality Commission and the State Anti-Corruption System.
