Morelia, Michoacán.- The director of Civil Protection and Firefighters of Morelia, Rogelio Rangel Reguera, ensured that the levels of the rivers and drains the municipality are already at their usual levels (between 25 and 30%), after Tuesday afternoon a trombole fell that caused flooding and watering in roads and colonies such as Prados Verdes.
In a media interview, the official said the tromba left as a balance seven trees fallen by the strong winds, three of them in the Cuauhtémoc forest, 2 by Boulevard García de León and two more for the monumental area.
“Rivers reached up to 90 or 95 percent of their capacity, the cartels operated at their maximum capacity, and it is the president’s instruction to keep 100% of the staff and units on alert,” he said.
He also appreciated the support provided by crews of the XXII infantry battalion, who have accompanied the staff of the Morelian City Council to carry out different activities.
Finally, he mentioned that four shelters were enabled in case of any emergency although the floods have not caused major impacts, since mitigation work had been carried out since the administration began.
