Relatives of missing persons on Monday demanded that President Andrés Manuel López Obrador in Veracruz get out of his vehicle and listen to his case, and by failing to get a favorable response a woman claimed that last March she did descend from her transport to greet the mother of the drug dealer Joaquín el Chapo Guzmán.
A video he posted Process shows the moment the car with the president on board was trying to make its way out of military installations.
“Let him get off, get off,” protesters shouted at him, showing banners, in some of them with the faces of their missing relatives.
“You only take care of Chapo’s mom, ” cried one woman another time.
A protester even stood in front of the car, holding a banner, though she was later removed.
“I want my daughter, I love my daughter, ” cried another woman shortly before the vehicle drove away.
“He promised us in campaign that there would be justice, that there would be search, and not; he gave us a place of honor when he came here on December 2 to Veracruz and since then he doesn’t take us into account, he doesn’t like it,” said one of the protesters, Elvia Cancela Jiménez, according to Reforma.
“We believed in him and he is failing us, that he remembers that we are people,” he added.
