translated from Spanish: Culiacan: Nothing concrete to reopen sports spaces

Culiacan, Sinaloa.- To return to the activity in the different sports centers of the city of Culiacán we will have to wait. The director of the Municipal Institute of Sport and Physical Culture of Culiacan, Carlos Lara Cebreros, told this publishing house that there is still nothing concrete for the reopening of sports centers, even though the Government already gave the green light to reopen shopping centers, beaches and restaurants. Lara indicated that today she will have a meeting with the mayor of the Sinaloan capital and will touch on the issue, although she hopes that they will soon be given the go-ahead to return to the activities, even though the traffic light in Sinaloa is still red.

“Today I have a meeting with Mayor Jesús Estrada Ferreiro to talk about it, but so far there is nothing concrete. I understand that the pandemic is still on track and what physical activation and sport is, to this day there is still no willingness to reactivate,” he said. The governor mentioned recently that we can meet already, we can go organizing and programming, we can see protocols for when it can be started. What you have said about a possible return on the first of July, we take it as we get to work and that we are ready; means that in a not too distant time they will open, but it is still nothing official,” he said.

The Director of the Imdec also said that on Wednesday he will have a meeting with the municipal committees to discuss the resumption of activities, although it will be via Zoom. As to whether they have received reports of some facilities remaining unslandestinely open, Lara Cebreros commented: “Yes there have been one that has been one that, we as a municipal authority have talked to them in a calm way and have understood.
We have over 500 sports facilities and we can’t be everywhere, but we’re on the lookout,” he said.
