Former President carlos Menem of Argentina was again hospitalized on Wednesday night, on the eve of his 90th birthday, two days after being discharged after more than two weeks in hospital for pneumonia.
The former Peronist member and senator for La Rioja, who turns 90 on Thursday, is in the intensive care area of the Sanatorio Los Arcos de Buenos Aires and his condition is “delicate”, sources close to the politician to the newspaper Clarín said.
At the moment, the details of this new hospitalization were not specified.
Menem had been admitted last June 13 in the intensive care unit of the Argentine Diagnostic Institute of Buenos Aires, with a picture of pneumonia, but went to plant several days later and finally, on Monday of this week, he was discharged to follow the recovery at his home.
The political veteran, who suffers from diabetes and had cardiological problems in the past, had tested negative for coronavirus.

It was she herself who, in the last days and through that social network, was explaining the evolution of her father’s health, and had even come to ask people to pray for him: “I know that prayer comes. I ask you all to please pray for my dad,” he wrote on June 15.
In addition to serving as a senator for 15 years, Menem has recently faced various judicial corruption charges for acts in his presidential term and has maintained a low media profile.
