Morelia, Michoacán, 04 July 2020. In the Congress of the State of Michoacán, legislative work has not been paralyzed despite the health contingency, so the necessary mechanisms have been sought and supported by the technological tools of communication, to continue the work of this Legislative Power.
In this way, one more virtual session was held, where they presented themselves to various initiatives prepared by the Members of this LXXIV legislature, discussed and analysed opinions that were previously drawn up by the different committees, which have also not ceased to work, in addition to the adoption of an exhortation and two positions were read.
The initiatives presented are aimed at the development and improvement of Michoacán and its people, including a reform so that the Michoacán Superior Audit (ASM) is in a position to carry out the corresponding planning of its activities, as well as to optimize the audit processes, so that such a process can be more expeditious.
Another of the initiatives that was read was to create an Institutional Image Law of the State of Michoacán with which it is intended to generate a real savings tool for the entity, for the three levels of government and the three powers of the State, in addition to the initiative with draft decree reforming and adding various provisions to the Municipal Organic Law of the State of Michoacán that aims to municipal governments prioritize the creation, recovery, maintenance and defence of public spaces and public coexistence, as well as activities that promote the public interest.
Similarly, after a thorough analysis by the legislators in plenary, it was decided that various ruling committees should continue in particular with the analysis of some initiatives in order to give them greater certainty and clarity for approval by local deputies.
In this regard, a point of agreement was also presented and approved to urge the President of the Republic to carry out the necessary actions in the use of his powers to reach the Municipalities of Michoacanos and thus there is greater economic solvency in the municipalities of the entity.
Thus, during this virtual session, two positions were also presented, one aimed at raising awareness of the environment and climate change and the other concerning the landmark resolution of the Supreme Court of the United States of America in favor of deferred action for childhood arrivals, “DACA”.
