Friday 10th and Saturday 12th 7:40 p.m.

On Friday 10th and Saturday 11th at 7:40 p.m., the great Symphony No. 3 of austrian genius Gustav Mahler will be broadcast. This is the performance that the National Symphony Orchestra gave in June 2018, under the direction of the then owner of the ensemble, maestro Leonid Grin. The concert also featured the debut in Chile of the outstanding Franco-Canadian mezzo-soprano, Nora Sourouzian, a figure widely praised by international critics. Also present were the soprano and contraltos voices of the Symphony Choir University of Chile, directed by the teacher Juan Pablo Villarroel, and the Choir of Girls of the Almendral College of the Pintana, directed by Marcela Serrano.
The program will also feature one of the public’s favorite choral works: Carmina Burana; pianist Liza Chung in the Ceac Piano Cycle and the Banch Laboratory project.
As every week, the sign of ceactv.cl is renewed with interesting works to bring to the homes of the public the best of symphonic music and contemporary dance.
Thus, on Tuesday, July 7 at 19:40 hours, the Symphony Choir together with the Chilean National Symphony Orchestra will revive one of the most recognized choral works of the twentieth century: Carmina Burana, by Carl Orff. The record corresponds to the last time that these ensembles presented live this renowned oratory, when in December 2019 they arrived at the Teatro Caupolicán to present themselves to more than 1,200 people.
The concert featured the baton of Chilean conductor Pablo Carrasco, in what was his debut at the helm of the country’s longest-running orchestra, as well as the outstanding solo vocals of the soprano Tabita Martínez, considered one of the great promises of Chilean lyrics; Brayan Avila, tenor with formal studies of singing at the University of Chile; and Ramiro Maturana, a baritone that was part of the Voice Camerata of the University of Chile and one of the lyrical singers selected to integrate the Accademia of the Teatro Alla Scala in Milan.
The programming will continue on Wednesday 8 with the Ceac Pianist Cycle, this time with the concert that closed the 2018 season of the series dedicated to the figure of the master Claudio Arrau, and which reviewed in an integral and chronological way the 32 Sonatas of Beethoven. In charge of the Korean pianist Liza Chung, the performance spanned the Sonata op.109, op.110 and op.111 sonatas (Nros 30.31 and 32).
On Thursday 9 at 20:00 hours returns Laboratorio Banch, a proposal that started the 2019 season of the Chilean National Ballet, where seven short-lived works created by dancers members of the company were premiered. To my loneliness, by Rodrigo Opazo; Botar, by Gema Contreras; Assertive tilt, by Amaru Piñones; You really don’t care about Valentine Keller; What if…, by Enrique Faúndez; Kintsugi, by Nicolás Berrueta; and Beast, by Fabián Leguizamón, are the pieces that will also be transmitted on Sunday, July 12 at the same time.
